By accessing our website or hiring us for our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our website or services.

1. Scope of Services

frontdot provides professional book prepublishing services, including but not limited to:

  • Book interior formatting and layout design (for eBook and Print-Ready PDF).

  • Paperback and hardcover cover design.

  • Technical optimization for publishing platforms (Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, etc.).

We deliver digital files that comply with the technical specifications provided by the client or the chosen publishing platforms. We do not provide marketing, publishing, distribution, or copywriting services.

2. Client Obligations & Material Submission

  • Copyright of Submitted Materials: You retain full ownership and copyrights of all manuscripts, text, images, fonts, and assets you provide to us. By submitting materials, you guarantee that you own the rights to them and that they do not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights.

  • Accuracy of Information: You are responsible for providing complete and final text manuscripts. Major edits or text rewrites submitted after the formatting process has begun may incur additional fees.

3. Intellectual Property Rights & Ownership

  • Our Work for You: Upon final payment, full ownership and copyrights of the final customized designs (e.g., final print-ready PDF, eBook files, tailored cover design) are fully transferred to you, the client.

  • Source Files: Raw design working files (such as Adobe InDesign .indd packages or layered Photoshop/Illustrator files) remain the property of frontdot unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing prior to the project’s start.

  • Portfolio Rights: Unless a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is signed, frontdot reserves the right to display the completed cover design and sample layout pages in our online portfolio solely for promotional purposes.

4. Revisions and Approval Process

  • Review Period: Upon delivery of the initial drafts or formatted files, the client has a specific period (typically 7–14 business days, as stated in the project proposal) to review and request adjustments.

  • Final Approval: Once the client explicitly approves the files (signs off on the project), the work is considered complete and accepted.

  • Platform Validation Guarantee: We guarantee that our files will pass the automated and manual technical checks of the specified platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP, IngramSpark). If a file is rejected due to a technical layout/formatting error on our part, we will correct the file free of charge, regardless of when the rejection occurs.

5. Payment Terms & Refund Policy

  • Deposits: Projects require an upfront deposit (e.g., 50%) before work begins, as specified in your custom quotation.

  • Final Payment: The final optimized, print-ready files will be delivered upon receipt of the remaining balance.

  • Refunds: Deposits are non-refundable once work on the concept, design, or formatting has officially commenced.

6. Limitation of Liability

While we ensure that all files meet the highest technical and professional standards of the printing and publishing industry, frontdot shall not be held liable for:

  • Any printing costs, financial losses, or loss of profits resulting from errors missed during the client’s final proofreading and approval stage.

  • Third-party platform updates or changes in specifications that occur after the final project delivery.

  • Account suspensions or issues on publishing platforms (such as Amazon KDP) that are unrelated to our technical layout work (e.g., copyright disputes, keyword violations, content policies).

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to your access to, or use of, the website or our Services shall be instituted in the competent courts of Kikinda, Serbia.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
